CAREERS
Build things that outlive the project.
We are an engineering team that ships its own products and engineers platforms for other companies. The work is real, and you will own what you build.
WHY SYNTHORIQ
Engineering environment built for builders.
We value craft, autonomy, and code that is boring to operate in production.
Advantage 01
Own the whole problem
You take features from initial architecture decisions, through implementation and tests, directly to production monitoring.
Advantage 02
Small team, real decisions
No bureaucratic approval chains. You write architecture decision records for your choices and you own the outcomes.
Advantage 03
We build our own products
A portion of your engineering time ships under our own product brand, building durable software assets rather than pure client service hours.
Advantage 04
AI-assisted tooling, human rigour
We actively encourage AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate boilerplate, paired with strict human code review.
No active openings today, but we always review exceptional builders.
We hire in small, deliberate bursts. If you build scalable systems across .NET, Node.js, Python, or Next.js, send us a note with links to your work. We keep direct applications on file.
TRANSPARENT HIRING
Our interview process.
We respect your time. Clear expectations, prompt feedback, and zero trick questions.
Send a resume, GitHub profile, or a link to working software you built.
30-minute introductory video call with a senior engineer about your background and technical interests.
Discussion of real architectural trade-offs and systems design—no trick whiteboard algorithms.
A small, paid take-home project with a defined scope and strict time cap.
Meet the engineers you would build with. Ask anything about our roadmap, stack, and culture.
Formal offer and clear compensation breakdown delivered within three business days.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Questions about working at Synthoriq.
Direct answers to common technical and engagement questions.
Yes. We are a distributed engineering team. We collaborate through GitHub, asynchronous documentation, and focused video checkpoints.
We embrace AI-assisted workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot). We expect engineers to understand the generated code deeply and maintain strict review standards.
Every pull request requires review from an engineer who understands that subsystem. We review for architectural clarity, schema integrity, and tests—not formatting trivia.
We evaluate code structure, test coverage, and documentation of trade-offs. All take-home exercises are paid at standard consulting rates.
Have something ambitious to build?
Tell us what you're working on. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right team for it.
